3 School Street

3 School Street, Provincetown (2011), by David W. Dunlap. The iconic Days’ Cottages in North Truro have taken care of guests for generations. But who’s taken care of Days’ Cottages? For a time in the mid-20th century, it was Nellie Almena (Williams) Vieira (±1887-1958), who lived here in her final years. This house was constructed between the 1840s and 1860s. Mrs. Vieira and her daughter, Justine Mary (Vieira) Roderick (1909-1986), bought the property in 1951. It is currently owned by Alan P. Duggan. Not, of course, the Alan Dugan, who spelled his name differently and died in 2003. • MapHistoric District SurveyAssessor’s Online Database PDF ¶ Posted 2013-08-25

  1. I was so happy to stumble upon this today! My family restored and owned 3 School Street from 1994-2006 and I lived there during high school and college. When my parents purchased the home sight unseen there was a six-foot drop to the sand floor! We also found an old penny above the door frame. Lots of ghosts and stories within those walls for sure.
