5 School Street

5 School Street, Provincetown (2011), by David W. Dunlap. There is surely a very interesting story behind this very oddly shaped house, but I don’t know it yet. The Historic District Survey surmises that it might have started out as a one-story cottage that was raised to two stories in the late 1800s or early 1900s. John and Mary A. Ferreira bought it from Dorothy M. Souza in 1941. Their daughter, Rose M. (Ferreira) Palheiro, held on to it until 2001, when she sold the property to Patricia Ann Souza. • MapHistoric District Survey, main house • Historic District Survey, garage • Assessor’s Online Database PDF ¶ Posted 2013-08
