27 Montello Street

27 Montello Street, Provincetown (2012), by David W. Dunlap.More than two decades have elapsed since James J. “Jimmy” Meads Sr. (1933-2011) was the chief of police in Provincetown, but his name still resonates, as he is generally credited with having steered the town quite successfully through a very tough era in policing. (A fuller discussion may be found at his adulthood home, 5 Dyer Street.) This was the home of his parents, the fisherman Frank Meads (b ±1900) and his wife, Mary V. Meads (b ±1907), as well as his brother Francis J. Meads (b ±1929), who owned the property until 1982. • Assessor’s Online Database ¶ Posted 2013-05-12

  1. Greetings.
I live on the 2nd floor of this beautiful historical home.

I would love to know who owned this home way back…
I have gone to Town Hall, but only have sale records from the Meads family to my current landlord.
    Rick Hawkins.
