This multitenant commercial building occupies what was once the front yard of the Pilgrim House. Its north facade is taken up with a trompe-l’oeil mural in which Amelia Earhart stands on the balcony, with Maya Angelou around the corner and Getrude Stein up in the attic.
Current tenants include Helping Our Women (HOW), a nonprofit founded in 1993 to “educate, empower and support women as they cope with chronic disease and life-threatening illnesses” — including cancer, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, heart disease, pulmonary conditions and mental illness. More than 40 percent of its clients are elderly. They come from Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet and Eastham. Susan H. Roderick, a certified family nurse practitioner, is the chairwoman.
