A turret marks the front façade of this 13-room former guest house, but the beachfront offers the real surprise: a much larger building, with three gabled dormers. In the 1950s, this was the Harbor Terrace, which sought “to create an atmosphere historically decorative second to none on the Cape.”

By 1960, it was Robert B. Frederick’s Sandpiper Beach House, which it remains 50 years later in name, though now a four-unit condominium — as the “private residence” sign on the lawn makes clear.
